Paris, France trip 🇫🇷 (3 days trip)

Travel with WANI in Paris, France. The land of romantic and beautiful of historical buildings.

Day 1: 04/09/17 (Monday)

Notre dame & Point Neuf Bridge

Started the trip so early as I took early flight from London Gatwick Airport to Paris Charles de Gaulle airport (CDG).

There are many airports in London, where each airport is further from the centre of London. Southampton has National express (coach) direct to the Gatwick airport and the ticket is quite cheap around £23 (single), so I could take a long nap on the way to the airport zZ.

Paris, France

EasyJet is another low-cost airline here, it took around 1 hour from London to Paris. After arrived to CDG airport, I started by buying a weekly transportation card which is cheaper than buying a single ticket, you can take any bus or train around Paris (suggestion: bring your photo ID for the card, if not, you might need to pay for €5 for photography) also, you can get a card from the office there.

First meal in Paris (lunch) was pasta with French toast for €13.90 (as we were so hungry, we finished all!).

After the meal, the first landmark was Notre Dame de Paris or known as “Notre Dame Cathedral”. It is in the top 25 places to visit in France, so why don’t we visit there? The Notre Dame is vast. Unfortunately, we didn’t get inside as there was a very big queue and we got tired to get the train from the airport to Paris. Anyway, we walked pass the Point Neuf bridge. After the long day travel and explored in the first day, we took a big rest in the hostel for 12 hours until the next day.

Day 2: 05/09/17 (Tuesday)

Our plan was to visit the main places, that is Gare du Musée de O’rsay, Arc de Triomphe, and the Eiffel Tower. The reason why Eiffel Tower would be the last one was because we wanted to see the Eiffel both in day time and when it lights up at night.

Before beginning the journey on the second day, we needed to get energy from the hostel for €6, this was a proper French breakfast, the king of the (fat - so much butter inside!!) French breakfast in France is croissant with a hot beverage. Hmm Yummy!!

Around 11.00 am, we took bus to Saints-Gilles-Chemin Vest (the place that my hostel’s staff suggested shopping there) and had lunch which I thought was needed to have some vegetables for today as I felt guilty to have fat food all day since I came to Paris, so we made up by having salad at Stratto just for €5.60 and that was nice and healthy food. Happy lunch!! :)

Gare du Musée de O’rsay is the art museum in Paris that you have to visit, again comes with a long queue, but is worth to visit here.

On the way I walked through the Jardin des Tuileries park which has Musée de I’Orangerie and Jeu de Paume, it was beautiful and peaceful place. It is the place for people who just want to relax after a long days walk. Another thing that when you are in Paris, you need to buy macarons!! Macarons is a sweet in French, if you don’t buy macarons meaning that you are not in France yet, so I bought a box of Macarons for €24 from PIERRE MARCOLINI back to UK as it was very necessary.

Continuing to the Arc de Triomphe is one of the most famous monuments in Paris. It's located in the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle. We took the metro from Tuileries to Ternes (the closest station to the Arc de Triomphe).

Time for the main landmark in Paris, that is “the Eiffel Tower”. First, we need to charge ourselves before we keep going and for killing the time until the lights will be up on the Eiffel. We had dinner close to the Eiffel Tower, which was beef steak with pepper sauce for €16.60 + €5.80 for a bottle of water Damn!!!!! Water here is so expensive.

After that, you will have to buy a ticket if you want to climb on the Eiffel. There are two levels: (1) the ticket that can get in just in the middle of the tower for €15 and (2) SOMMET ticket which mean can visit the top level of Eiffel by lift for €17 (that was what I did).

When I got to the top, it was very beautiful. You can see a very nice view on top, see the city around Paris. There are metal telescopes for seeing the city clearly and closer (unfortunately nothing free in the world) so you need to insert the coin for €1 for doing that. It worth it.

Finally, night time is coming and the lights are up on the Eiffel tower (we made it). That was very beautiful and romantic (if you are there with your lover, that would be a very romantic and nice place for you guys). The bottom line is, the lights will blink on the Eiffel tower every hour (that is so cool). At the end of the day, we took metro back to the hostel and had a big rest to charge ourselves for the next day zZ.

Day 3: 06/09/17 (Wednesday)

Louvre Museum

This was the last day in Paris so we spent all day in the Louvre museum. It is the world’s largest art museum and historic monument in Paris., Here you have to get a super long queue for the security before you get in there, the massive queue is happened here guys. For the ticket, we will purchase inside the Louvre; €15 (no audio guide) and €20 (with audio guide).

Here is vast and full of arts & history around the world, such as Egyptian, Greek, Roman Antiquities, Paintings from Great Britain, United State, Art of Africa, Asia, Oceania and the Americas etc.

Half of the day we spent at the Louvre Museum was very nice for me and we headed back to London in the late afternoon. Bought donut sandwich ham cheese for €4.90, ham was like rare ham, the smell quite strong but taste good. Then we took train back to the CDG (Paris Charles de Gaulle airport) and fly to London, UK. See you next time France.

Eventually, Paris was very nice place to visit and we were so happy to have visited here. Three days’ trip was not enough for Paris but we made the best and the most of it.

See you again next trip! BYE!! ❤
